Saw a short feature of Lazy Bastard in PAL's Mabuhay June issue. Barely a week after, where chances are fat, we're already in Lazy Bastard, Jupiter. And we're famished because it was an OT night.

Truly, Lazy Bastard is situated in a basement. It was quite hard to find it except for this big sign:

Woohoo! Underground fun!

Burgers & bacon await inside

It's just a very small restaurant, just an aisle if I may say. Nevertheless, the offer big burgers. I love their lazy neon sign, too that says "Long live bacon."

Hail! Hail!
Or their menu board that shouts, "Bacon is not pork, it's bacon." Who am I not to agree?

DIY bfast!
Ordered Bacon Cheeseburger at Php 220. And because we know we want to, all of us added extra bacon for Php 40. Piggy's delight! Haha. Upgraded it all to Combo at Php 90 with sides (fries, tots and rings) plus sodas in can. At that time, tots were unavailable so just had fries and rings.

Alright, so here we come after about 10 minutes: the eating and review. The burger itself was big (of course, blame it to the extra bacon). In fact, we nearly had a heart attack finishing one. The beef was half my thumb thick. Then there's the melted cheese and a few veggies (nah!).

Mishmash of onion rings + fries

It was flavorful. In fact, it's salty for my taste already. The fries was fine but not too crispy. The onion rings were and I like how thick it was. I just don't like the breading. Maybe I'm so used to Burger King's version.

Overall, it's a good find. And really worth burgers because of the size. Beware of adding too much add-ons, though. Heart, heart.

Finally, another buffet restaurant to enjoy! Four Seasons Hot Pot City by Vikings Group, offering fresh and healthy hotpot/ steamboat/ shabu-shabu, is truly an eat-all-you-can to visit.

Let's see what it has to offer

Upon entering the restaurant, I can feel the effort placed in coming up with something grand as this. The interior was bright, very conducive to enjoy with family or friends. What's more, just before sunset, it's a romantic place to be with Manila Bay and all.

I also love how the sections are labeled from:
  • Premium- phew! not open that time

  • Seafood- everything under the sea to the table is here!

  • Beverages/ The Bar- nope, they opted for their own concoctions than settling for anything less such as powdered juices

  • Desserts- yummy desserts! Crepe, yogurt, cakes, breads and Iscreeeeeeeeeam all you can (and more).

On the seat, servers immediately demo how to use the hotpot. Every table has its own electric stove which is safe to use. Then the yin-yang pot can accommodate two kinds of broth/ soup: pork, chicken, fish, vegetable, sinigang. Then mix to flavor are also opted.

Because I had two tables ;), was able to try almost all the broths. They all are fine except for Sinigang. For me it doesn't fit well with the meat balls, etc type of food.

For those who can't wait, they also have cooked meals near the bar (which are good) and Japanese deluxe such as maki, sushi and tempura.

What I enjoyed in hot pot are:
  • Cooking can be bonding in itself!
  • Healthy food choices
  • Innards/ offal lover

Innards all you can
  • Made on the spot which ensures freshness

  • With hot drinks such as teas and coffee! Also offer milk teas and shakes (by request in the bar)

Grab a milk tea or fruit shake!
  • With draft beer and Chang beer, friends say it's good

Good!
  • And Japanese sake!!!

Arigato!
  • Their viands I enjoyed, they weren't included there just because

Especially love the curry!
  • Superb ice cream selection: a mark of the Vikings Group!
Some tips:
  • Thinly sliced meats should be rolled (as in a circle) first then dropped for just about 3-5 seconds
  • Below are the special meats ordered at the counter to be delivered on the table (so take note of the table number)

Remember to choose from these!
  • Again, not to much on drinks. (Not to break the bubble but harder here because of their fresh juices)
  • When full, try hot tea then eat again ;)
  • Refrain from slurping the soup from the hot pot. Mind the calories.
Overall, I find the selection in hotpot good and fresh. It's a good break from the mushrooming buffets around.

Cafe Travel: what an intriguing name! More than the want for some caffeine, it's the curiosity that got the better of us. So one nippy night, our feet brought us to this cafe along Taft.

Welcome to Cafe Travel!

Annyeonghaseyo!
At the entrance, we were greeted by columns of pictures- a must when travelling. Then at a nook, an Eiffel Tower greets plus post and mailbox, an old telephone, jars of trinkets, a big panda and sticky notes on the wall. At some point we don't know how these relate to travel already (maybe the Korean owners traveled far o put up a cafe?) but nevertheless, all these little detail to the cozy ambiance.

At a glance, it looks like Noriter, even the seats (but with pillows)! And much brighter and cleaner.

Food for three!

We traveled to eat so we munched all sweets! Tried Travel Special's Java Chip at Php 180 and Oreo Cookies Cake at Php 170. The drink was good, the Oreo cake was a blast!

They tried New York Cheesecake (Blueberry) at Php 190 and Dark Chocolate Cake at Php 170. The latter was not that dark, in fact it's sweet. But hats down to the former. Their NY Cheesecake was oh so good and compact! All were expensive but it's definitely a sweet-tooth-craving-satisfied-kinda-day.

Only contention were:
  • There's nothing to eat except sweets! Wish they'd offer more

Sweetness overload
  • Just spent a tad higher (Php 350 compared if we went to the much popular cafes
Overall, their cakes are to miss. And next time, we'd bring around post-it notes.
